HDR Macros

Posted on June 26, 2011

Well, it was bound to happen.  I have combined my two favorite genres of photography: HDR and Macro.  The lighting is not as dramatic as something like a landscape HDR, but there is still a pretty wide range of light and contrast.  See for yourself with this Worm Gear.  The HDR allows  you to see the fine details such as the wear marks in the threads and the fibers of dust that have settled in the lubricant.  Meanwhile, the rest of the image is properly lit.  What do you think?
